KSRI Ongoing Events:

An annual red-carpet documentary showcase featuring student productions alongside award-winning international documentaries and films, bridging education, filmmaking, and community engagement. This includes special film screenings throughout the year in conjunction with Jackson Doc Fest and other award-winning films from around the globe, inviting students, faculty, and the community. In short, it is not just a film festival—it is a learning model, creative platform, and community event that brings history, civic engagement, and public dialogue to life through documentary filmmaking.

VIDAN Heritage Concert offers a vibrant cultural experience designed for international festivals, theaters, educational programs, and cross-cultural events. Beyond performance, the group reflects K&Arts’ broader social mission by supporting gugak musicians, promoting Korean history and cultural education, and expanding inclusive cultural outreach through innovative artistic collaboration.

In cooperation with CARE Projects, we are hosting a special lecture series to honor our Heroes and Legends for their lifetime achievements, service, and generosity in making a positive impact on our youth and future generations. The series also highlights the important oral and visual history of our Korean American legacy. You will have the opportunity to meet, listen to, and engage with these heroes, drawing inspiration and connecting with our shared heritage to further our research on important Korean American history.

KTOWN IFF is where global cinema meets the creative energy of Koreatown—bringing filmmakers, technologists, and storytellers together in one of Los Angeles’ most vibrant cultural crossroads.

Led by gami, Music of Korea is a traveling cultural ensemble dedicated to sharing the beauty and spirit of traditional Korean music through innovative collaborations with diverse artistic and cultural communities. Blending authentic Korean gugak traditions with contemporary interpretation, improvisation, and cross-cultural exchange, the ensemble tours cities across the United States—particularly communities with limited cultural arts access and international programming opportunities—to introduce audiences to Korea’s rich heritage, history, and artistic identity. Through music, storytelling, education, and intercultural collaboration, Music of Korea creates meaningful cultural experiences that connect communities, encourage dialogue, and celebrate the universal language of the arts.
